The establishment of the Kerteh FC Supporters’ Cooperative Society marks the beginning of an exciting initiative aimed at giving members a greater role in the club’s future, from funding to decision-making. This strategy is designed to progressively increase supporter involvement and investment in the club.
In July 2024, the Cooperative Society has launched its membership registration, with 100 members already on board, raising RM20,000. The target for April 2025 is to reach 1,000 supporters, which would generate RM200,000, assuming each member contributes an average of RM200. This initial phase will help the club cover key operational expenses while building a strong base of community support.
By 2025, the Coop Society aims to increase its membership further, setting a long-term goal of reaching 5,000 supporters, which would generate RM1,000,000. With this funding, Kerteh FC will be able to go semi-professional and further invest in its youth teams to compete in the M3 League. The Coop Society will use these funds to finance club activities, allowing for expansion into more commercial ventures.
Looking ahead, the Coop Society plans to enhance its involvement in the club’s commercial operations. Proceeds generated through both membership revenue and commercial activities will be directly reinvested into the club. This will include areas like community engagement, marketing and promotions, general working capital, and asset financing, with a clear distribution plan already in place.
